On the back of the card, it says: “Cornwall’s most outstanding dining lounge. The home of fine Chinese and Canadian Cuisine. Fully licensed, air-conditioned, ample parking, all major credit cards accepted.” I was once asked, “What is Canadian Cuisine?” The phrase arose in the mid-1800s when Chinese restaurants started to appear. Some folks wanted plain food – home-cooked meals, and the phrase “Canadian Cuisine” was reassuring. The Bamboo Restaurant on Brookdale has since been demolished.
