Second Street looking East. Cornwall, Ontario

Second Street looking east.

The gentleman with the horse has turned to speak with the man on the sidewalk. A small portion of the orphanage porch on the corner of Second and Sydney can be seen. The fine three-story building has a laundry and the white sign stands out from the corner. [I wonder if this building was a hotel at one time?] Next is a hardware-style store with a carriage and wheelbarrow out front. On the right, the one-storey building is where the Cornwall Street Railway was located for many years. And beyond that would be St. John’s Presbyterian Church.
