The Copeland Block—Corner of Pitt and Third Street.
Lyall Manson said: “I could have sworn on a stack of Bibles this building was not in Cornwall.” But Lyall soon identified the verandah to the left of the photo as part of Hart House. Therefore, this is the corner of Pitt and Third Street, looking East towards Sydney Street. The property at right was known as the Copeland Block and may have been a Bank of Montreal at one time. The building was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1933. In later years many will recall Tip Top Tailors on this southeast corner.
