This card is postmarked 24 Feb 1944 although the photo was taken earlier. This view of Pitt Street looking south shows the Bank of Commerce on the corner, The Metropolitan Store, and F.W. Woolworth’s stores. Fullerton Drugs is south of Woolworths. In later years Pitt Street would also boast a Zeller’s store. The white sign on the left says “Recruits wanted” confirming the photo was taken about 1939 (WWII).
