The Marlboro Tourist Home, Cornwall, Ontario

The Marlboro Tourist Home.

The City Directory shows two names at 128 Marlborough Street: Hubert Miron and Shell Oil (J. McAlear). It was the home of the Proulx family. They were also involved in the hotel at Martintown. Daughter Janette Miron and husband Rudy Gagne owned and operated it for years.

This fine home still stands on Marlborough Street today as The Royal Manor Rest Home (next photo). At one time Hwy 2 came off Montreal Road onto Marlborough Street, turning west at the General Hospital onto Second Street and continuing to (what are now remembered as) the Lost Villages.
