The hotel was situated on Water Street west of the Court House. The artist has sketched a bit of the courthouse to the right to show its proximity to the flames. Three men; George Hagley, Philadelphia, John Gallen, Philadelphia, and Raymond Duquette, Winchester, Ontario, lost their lives in the fire.
