The Rossmore faced Pitt Street but “cornered” to Second Street. This may be the “rear” of the Hotel on Second Street. It is Saturday morning, April 30, 1910. A small crowd gathered to inspect the damage and mourn the deaths of twelve people. At the left, a single stream of water is focused on the building and smoke continues to pour from the ruins. Note the electrical pole at the top of the photo, burned through, and hanging by its wires.
