Colourized Stormont Cotton Mill

Ottawa Journal Cornwall, 7 April 1908—Over production and a desire to effect certain repairs have caused the three big cotton mill factories here to close down. Over 1,000 hands are employed at the mills. The factories will not be reopened until the water is let into the Cornwall canal towards the end of April. The Cornwall town council recently passed a bylaw fixing the assessment of the Stormont and Canada Mills at $275,000. This bylaw imposes conditions as to the length of time the factories may be closed in one year.
