This is an early postcard photo of the Capitol Theatre with the original marquee over the front doors. James Whitham built the Palace Theatre first and it was constantly filled to capacity. On January 22, 1928, he opened the Capitol Theatre. There were two additional tenants in the building — on the left the Medical Hall Company owned by W.C. Burns and on the right the barber shop owned by Oliver Charlebois. Memory shared: The barber shop had mirrors on two walls, west and east.
Sitting in the chair, one could look into the reflections of both mirrored walls — into infinity.
