Unless a date is printed on a postcard it is difficult to determine when the photo was taken. The new Canadian Maple Leaf flag was launched Feb 15, 1965. Since the Red Ensign is shown on the flagpole it is likely this photo was taken before 1965. Notice too, the Crown on top of the Canada Immigration Customs stop sign. Over the years the Canadian Government phased out almost all references to the British Crown, although the word “Royal” has been restored to the various branches of the Armed Forces.
