Cornwall Post Office and King George Hotel. Ontario

Cornwall Post Office and King George Hotel.

The King George Hotel was originally constructed as a private residence for Dr. Noah Dickinson in 1825. His wife died before the building was completed and Dr. Dickinson never lived there. Instead, the building served as a barracks, courthouse, and hotel, but never as a home. It was known variously as the Dominion House, American House, Balmoral, and finally King George.
