In the 1950s there was an Imperial Oil service station located at 15 Montreal Road East – the site of this mural. Bulk storage tanks for Esso were located on the southwest corner of Amelia and Sixth Streets. Another Imperial Oil gas station was located at 33 Second Street West, beside the Capitol Theatre. Today it is the location of a provincial court building.
