For many years in the late 1940s and early 1950s, Cornwall Mayor Aaron Horovitz hosted a Children’s Picnic in Central Park. Eventually, Central Park was renamed Horovitz Park in honour of the long-serving Mayor. Later, Brian Sylvester served as Mayor from 1997-1999. Sylvester revived the picnic—and renamed it “The Mayor’s Picnic.”
