On September 14, 1955, the new Hotel Dieu Hospital opened its doors on McConnell Avenue in Cornwall. Fifty years later, in 2005, the Cornwall General Hospital facilities and staff was transferred to the Hotel Dieu Hospital. Both names were dropped and the building was renamed the Cornwall Community Hospital. Major renovations were undertaken throughout 2009-2014 and there are now 185 beds and a staff of over 1,200.
