Pitt Street opposite the Court House

This card is seen elsewhere in the “Pitt Street” Section, but comparing this card with the next one is just too good to miss. The shape of upstairs windows will help to determine what buildings have changed – along with the changing street signs. The jail yard (left) was an area for prisoners to exercise and get some fresh air. It was also the place where scaffolding was erected to hang those judged guilty of murder.
