Aerial view of Pitt Street (centre).

In this card, the Cornwall Canal, (later filled in to form part of Lamoureux Park), is still in place. It is interesting to see Pitt Street from “end-to-end” (Water Street to Cornwall Centre Road). The community to the rear left horizon is St. Andrews. Cornwall Square has not yet been built and the “barns” for city buses are visible (between Pitt and Sydney streets along Water Street). St. Paul’s Church, to the right and behind the bus barns, was torn down for the construction of Cornwall Square. The tall Seaway building is in place at Pitt and 2nd Streets.
