Pre-1933 Pitt Street looking north. Cornwall, Ontario

Pre-1933 Pitt Street looking north.

This ‘long shot’ of Pitt Street was taken before the Great Fire of 1933 and was taken from the middle of First and Second Streets on Pitt towards the Town Hall with its tower, and beyond. The Bank of Commerce is still on the corner opposite the Post Office. The Metropolitan Store is beside the bank. The striped awning is part of C.W. Lant’s Oyster Bar.
