This card features the Royal Hotel at 348 Montreal Road in Cornwall’s East End with a bowling alley downstairs and a drug store on the corner. Notice the decorative stained glass over the doorways of the hotel. Fred Lefebvre stands on the corner with the pharmacist. The railway tracks on McConnell Avenue turn east onto Water Street. In 1956 a fire gutted the Royal Hotel and adjacent tenement. The Lefebvre family rebuilt the Hotel (see 4th card below). In 1986 the Royal Hotel was closed and Freddy’s Restaurant and Lounge opened (on the corner where the pharmacy once operated.)
