The many chimney stacks of Cornwall’s paper mill can be seen beyond the bridge. On the left, the low bridge steelwork is part of the swing bridge over the Cornwall Canal near Augustus Street. The swing bridge allowed lakers with their tall superstructure to use the canal locks on their way to the Great Lakes.
