Corner of Second & Pitt Streets. Cornwall, Ontario

Corner of Second & Pitt Streets.

More changes! The story continues to evolve. Simpson’s order office has replaced the Canadian Pacific offices. Cornwall Electrical Sales Westinghouse Appliances can be seen. The car on the right is stenciled at the back “Red Rose Tea Co., Toronto Ont.” Beyond the post office, the Standard sign has been replaced with a Coca-Cola sign, and next is the marquee for the Capitol Theatre.

On the left is Dover’s Men’s Wear – the sign features the brand name “Burberry Coats.” The large building opposite the Bank of Commerce and is Fullerton’s Drug Store today. Beyond, is a large sign for Yates-China-Electric. Yates was earlier on Pitt Street but sold the property and moved to Second Street. Further west is the Cornwallis Hotel. Interestingly too is the “island” to the right of the trolley tracks to assist passengers embarking and disembarking the trolley cars. There was a matching Island on the west side (behind the car turning south).
