The swing gear, just under the roadway portion of the bridge fell into the river when the bridge was being dismantled. The gear or wheel can still be seen in the river today near the former Domtar site. The water runs fast over the wheel making it easy to locate. Parts of the piers of the old bridge are also visible at the same location.
